This patient is a 53 year old mother of three who lived in London. She came to me wanting a smaller and flatter abdomen and a narrower waistline. She felt she could not comfortably wear what she wanted. She was a smoker. We decided that we would proceed with a full abdominoplasty and circumferential liposuction. She agreed to stop smoking 4 weeks prior to surgery.

I proceeded with the surgery as planned when she had stopped smoking for 4 weeks. She had a full abdominoplasty with repair of the abdominal wall with plication of the muscles. SHe also had liposuction of her abdomen, waist and back for a total liposuction aspirate of 3 liters. She was able to go home the day of surgery.

Her post operative course was straightforward. She did not smoke. She healed well and reurned to London 4 weeks after her surgery. She was happy with her new waistline.
